Is there anything better than pen & paint & paper?
I'm addicted to art journaling.
There. I've said it.
I don't think there's a 12 step program available for this addiction, and honestly, I doubt that I'd attend meetings if there was, because I just don't want to be cured.
To me there is NOTHING like the feel of heavy 140# cold pressed paper, sitting at my table with paint, pens, glue and images at the ready...and having a chunk of time to just lay it all down on paper.

The page at the right is the very first page I ever created in my first journal...I spent a few hours getting lost in color and texture, up to my elbows in paint and glue, and man, I was hooked.
Maybe that's why I started this small business. Because I want other people to be able to find the joy that I do when I sit down to create art. Seriously - art has saved my life. Okay, that's a bit dramatic, but I really don't know where I'd be without having a creative outlet. I've "found" myself amongst all the paper & glue. And I've seen other people "find" themselves too. So now my little company offers blank art journals in three sizes, along with an art journaling kit for beginners, and a complete line of cards featuring my original artwork. Who knew this is where it would all lead? Yeah - art journaling...it's a good thing. |

I've met so many people who are interested in trying their hand at art journaling but just don't know where to start...so I've finally put together what I think is a fabulous product....the Sassy Pants Art Journaling KIT! So many of my students have asked me to put all the basics into one package so they can get their friends started - so I've finally gotten it together (so to speak)!

- an inspiration page with original Sassy Pants art journal pages in full color for you to cut up and use on your own pages, or just to give you ideas on where to start
- a Tombow permanent adhesive wand to hold cut up images and papers onto your pages.

I'm known mostly for my creation of blank art journals...with lots of funky collage, paint and pen work on the covers. I love to art journal for at least 30 minutes every day - and oftentimes more. But the most difficult thing for me was finding a great blank journal to put my work in....I mean, there are lots of great journals out there, but not with the kind of paper that I like to use....140lb Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper, which I believe is the best paper out there to hold glue, paint, watercolor, and pen work. Seriously, if you're going to put all that time and love into making great pages, don't you want to use paper that will stand the test of time and look great for years to come? So, I started making them myself. I went to a class taught by Teesha Moore and she showed us some basic bookbinding techniques (along with some great art journal techniques!) and when I came home I started making them for myself and friends....and they kinda took off. Seems there's a need for great blank art journals!

I offer the journals in two ways - hard bound and soft bound. Hard bound journals are 8" x 8" (photo at right) and are filled with 48 blank pages just waiting for your artwork! This is the journal you want when you're serious about keeping your artwork in a book that will last forever - it's sturdy!
The soft bound journals come in two sizes - the smaller one is 7.5" x 5.5" and has twelve pages and are a great way for you to try your hand at art journaling without making a huge investment. The larger one is a generous 7.5" x 11" and has 24 pages for all of your artwork. No two journals are alike - all of the journals have fun collage work and one of the sassy pants stories on the cover - and each is painted by hand along with funky beads that dangle from the spines. |

So finally - here they are - my new line of cards with original stories that are sure to tickle your funny bone. Each card features one of my Sassy Pants gals - you know, that smart mouth girl that used to sit behind you in science class - yeah, that was me.

I had such a great time creating this line and I'm really enjoying sharing my stories with the world. It's a good thing the names have been changed to protect the not-so-innocent!
